…morning light is magic…

Bridge to Nowhere

I always get excited from a photography perspective when it’s foggy out in the morning.  My favorite go-to place for fog shots is Brazos Bend State Park in Texas.  It was a particularly fogging morning on this outing.  The spillway bridge was almost completely fogged in making for a cool photo-op.   Broke out the 100-400 lens for hand carrying it around the park.

Taken with Canon 7D and Canon 100-400 lens, hand-held

1/640 sec @ F11, ISO 400, evaluative metering

Nice. When it’s that foggy out there it’s sometimes the only thing to shoot until the sun breaks through.

I love shooting out at BBSP in the fog…Old Horseshoe Trail is my favorite area, but the trails in back of the park can be really nice too in the springtime!

  5. I like the second one with the fisherman walking across. This may be the same guy I see fishing out there most of the time. I think it could be a good stock photo that can be used in some type of advertising. It can tell a story.

  8. Hey Jim. I haven’t spent much time on the other trails. I’ll have to add them to my list.

  9. Sorry to shock everyone. It was too hard to spot many birds in that fog. I’ll go back to birds in my next post.

  10. Thanks David. He wasn’t a fisherman but one of the park volunteers. The guy that always has the walking stick.

  12. Thanks Sheldon. I try to put my spin on the photos when given the right conditions. I don’t just like snap shots.
