Nesting Skimmer
Found this Black Skimmer sitting on some eggs this past weekend at sunrise so I was obligated to take it’s picture. It’s the law…at least in my book. More to come
Taken with Canon 7D and 100-400 lens, hand held
1/2500 sec @ F7.1, spot metering, ISO 400, no flash
Awesome shot Tim! Must have been a thrill to see.

Tim, Got your PM on TPF. I tried sending you one today, but your mailbox is full. Here’s what I said…
I went out yesterday am and saw some Skimmers and one very young one – so ugly it was cute. I never saw the nest or anything marked off though. I suspect the nest might have been near where the youngster was, but I didn’t want to get that close.
It was so cool to see that youngster begging for food and stumbling around.
Thanks!
Patti

Patti, glad that you got to see some. I agree that they are pretty homely looking but neat to see. Sent you another PM on TPF.
